After hours of weary travel, and not a soul to be found, the backpacks of a few unsuspecting GIL member gave me a very important clue to their whereabouts...everything this group was carrying was only available in the gargoyle realms. Ter Mur, the grand gargoyle realm had to be the place...
After obtaining permission to enter through a considerable bribe, I was able to travel to the fair city in search of my elusive prey. Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that I was correct, this place was teeming with activity...all carelessly standing around, unhidden, unaware. Surely a dream come true. As a novice, I couldn't hope to make off with much, as I am still quite prone to blunders, but after everything I'd been through, I would take a simple ring at this point.
I make my way over to the bank, and watch a pair of gilfane blue's enter the building, and proceed to sort their bags, stow what they cannot carry, and re-stock on supplies. Avoiding the large dragon outside the door, I pick the one closer to the wall, and pray that my snoop isn't seen with both of them near me. Success! not much to see though, bandages, gold, rune books, nothing of interest that can be taken. Then i notice a pair of bags under a few of the other items, it would be risky but if there was treasure, that's where it would be. I'd gotten lucky once, twice was pushing it, I chance it and miraculously succeed...only to find small stacks of scales. Nuts... Since I was committed at this point, why not, try to other bag. A bit better in this one, some very nice magic jewelry, but still nothing amazing. I was preparing to target a + ninjitsu ring with 15 damage bonus, when suddenly, in the very bag I'm looking in, falls a bright purple scroll.There was no question as to my target at this point, i knew they wouldn't remain still for much longer and had to act fast.
I quickly snatch it while he's still distracted with his other bags, luckily, it seems he wasn't currently watching that bag, and didn't seem to notice a thing. Best not to take chances though. Unnoticed still at this point, even in my bright yellow robe and awesome hat, I casually walk straight out the front door, as calmly as possible.
...Then a little less calmly as soon as I was out of direct sight. (they figured it out right around this time)
With a little bit of ninja magic...I take my rodent self to the lower corner and wait until I'm sure they weren't looking this way, then calmly stealth back to the nice, calm (somewhat deserted) luna bank, to enjoy my prize.
Mining? Hmm, not quite what i was hoping for, but the best thing I've managed to grab all day, still could be quite useful. so it's a win in my book.
