Day 1

I saw the cat again today. The same cat I saw yeseterday. A healthy, full coat of fur. Black as midnight. Its paws carefully side-stepping the path laid in blood. Blood dripping from mine own blade. This man pissed off the wrong people. Then again, you always end up pissing on somebody when gold is involved. When someone gets rich, someone else is getting the short end of the stick.

Before I left I smiled at the cat.

I swear he smiled back.

I'll collect my pay in the morning.
