7.8: Are Disarm Thieves worth making on Siege?
If you're going to have a Disarm Thief anywhere, Siege is the place to
be. The problem is that the majority of players that have any weapon
worth stealing
will be using their Siege Bless on that weapon. Luckily for you, there
are a few notable exceptions:
- Mages - Many mages play with spellbooks equipped. But the ones that don't are usually using their bless on other, more
powerful items, like Ornaments of the Magician and Crystalline Rings.
- Dexers - Because of special moves, many dexers will carry around multiple weapons. Since they can only bless one
weapon at a time, they are going to be holding an unblessed weapon at least some of the time. The problem with this is
that you could just as easily wait until the unblessed weapon is in their pack before you make your move, making disarming
unnecessary to get the item.
- And of course most people aren't expecting to be disarmed. Even though people are aware of thieves on Siege, the
majority of those thieves can't Disarm anyone. Because of this, people aren't expecting it and they become forgetful,
And now the situation is perfect for you to take advantage.
If you want to play a Disarm Thief, plan on putting 100+ points into Wrestling. You'll land your punches more often and
even if you rarely use the Disarm special move, you'll still gain the added bonus to dodge attacks.
