Making Poisoning Interesting
>Making Poisoning Interesting
Poisoning in Magic: The Gathering. Every casual player as attempted making a "poison deck." Every one of them couldn't kill another player
without the help of a mana screw on their part. Part of the problem that I always found was the fact that the opponent could have 9 poison
counters on them and 9 poison counters is no different that 1 poison counter. Even worse, try using a poison deck in a free-for-all. You could
spend your entire time trying to poison someone to death, get 9 counters on them, and get picked off, with your presence on the table barely
even felt.
I wanted to change this.
Taking queues from UO, having to cure poison before re-gaining the ability to heal was important to me. After that it was a trick to twist
mtg poison with *fizzling* spells. With those two changes, in addition to more interesting ways to poison other player, and I'm a happy person.
