>Reviews

"The dialogue, characters, and story in the game are all pretty great. For that alone, I would definitely recommend playing this title." says RPG RPG Revolution's Official Review in July of 2009. "8.0" Source

"The tone of the game, as you'll see, is very devil. Difficult to [not] smile in the face of countless dialogue of rare stupidity that [you'll] read [while] playing." says Rpg2s Magazine in their September 2008 Issue. "8.5" Source

>Donations

Donations are not required to play (or enjoy!). Except for the majority of resources and a few scripts, this game has been made completely by me on my free time over the years. It's also made under the nose of Electronic Arts who is gracious enough to not request that it be taken down. This game is awesome. If you're awesome too, please donate $10, $5, or whatever you can afford. (But only if you're awesome--awesome like Electronic Arts. Lame people can keep their money.)

>Backstory

I decided very early on what my goal was. To tell the entire tale through the eyes of Chad never knowing the key role he plays in the greater story playing around him. Some of the supporting characters will be directly involved with the story, but they'll never speak of it openly. I'll either cut to a scene half-way through the conversation so the player doesn't get all of it, then Chad walks in hearing even less.

Now the "real" RPG story where he saves the world/gets the girl/defeats the prophicized true evil spawn of hell? I'm not going to give that away just yet. But in truth that's not the focus of the game.

>Features

PROS:

  • All 64 Magery spells and 10 Chivalry spells straight from Ultima Online.
  • Graphics, Sound fx, and BGM from UO.
  • Recognizable Dungeon layouts and monsters from UO, in addition to completely new dungeons.
  • Recognizable Towns and Cities from UO, in addition to completely new populated areas.
  • A supporting cast of characters which were originally based off of real people found within The Mis-adventures.
  • Situations, locations, little quirks and inside jokes that are call backs to The Mis-adventures.
  • Pre-existing in-game text ranging from documents I've written personally, stories/documents that other real players have written, to books found within the universe of UO.
  • The "UO Skill System." Like UO, the skill system is at the heart of the game. All but two of the main characters has three skills each. Each skill has a maximum value of 1000. The higher the skill is the harder it is to gain. All the actions you take in the game have a direct effect on your skills. (The more you cast spells, the higher your magery gets.) All of the UO skills are all independant of Level-ups. While some skills are central to gameplay, many others are optional. You can take as little or as much time as you want to train those skills.
  • The game not only supports the battle oriented skills (Magery, Chivalry, Healing, etc...) but also supports some of the crafting skills, all of which you may choose or choose not to train.

CONS:

  • Mostly RTP Character Sets.
  • Lack of complex Scripts. Almost all features are done with events alone.
