General Information
The Blacksmithy skill is unique to blacksmiths. With a Smith's Hammer in hand and an Anvil at the ready, a skilled blacksmith can create some of the most powerful weapons & armor in the game. There are 9 different types of ore: Iron, Dull Copper, Shadow Iron, Copper, Bronze, Gold, Agapite, Verite, and Valorite. Some of them have elemental resistances unique to a type of ore, but as a general rule, the more rare the ore, the stronger and more powerful the item you will craft. The more rare the ore, the harder it is to craft into anything useful.If the correct skill requirement is met of the type of ingot you want to use, you'll then be able to craft Swords, Krysses, Plate Helms, and Plate Armor. (You'll also be able to craft Shurikens at 500 skill. There is no difference in the quality of a shuriken when different ingots are used.)
- Whenever you craft a Sword it is randomly given 1 of 7 Super Slayer types.
- Paladins, Blacksmiths, and Dexers are the only character types that can equip swords.
Item Properties
Rare ore does not necessarily mean better. Each ingot type has special properties. Some ores are resistance to elemental type damage. While others are optimal for crafting with the intention of selling to stock pile on gold to afford those pricey artifacts.
- Copper Plate Helms & Plate Armor are also resistant to Lesser Poison & Poison status effects.
- Gold Plate Helms & Plate Armor also give it's wearer +25 EVA.
Runic Hammers
Due to the tedious nature of Blacksmithy and the very unsatisfactory menu system (and due to my inability to code my own menu system), I've added Runic Hammers to the game. Dull Copper Runic Hammers have 9 Uses, Shadow Runic Hammers have 8 Uses, etc. Valorite Runic Hammers have only a single use. With a runic hammer a smith, regardless of skill level, can craft weapons & armor of the appropriate ingot type. The catch is their limited amount of uses and the fact that there are only 1 of each in the game.
