>1.11: The Unholy Swamp - Part 1
When you come back to the crossroads, a man will be waiting next to the road sign. He calls himself Lord Book Master.

[B] Wandering Healer.
[C] Public Stew.
[D] Reagent Vendor that also sells "Magery Reagents Vol. 2". But as I said before, don't buy it. The in-game menu system is really very poor for conveying that type of information. Use the charts here in the Player's Guide to learn which spells use which reagents.
[E] A Wandering Merchant with all sorts of useful gear. If you missed the Bone Crusher, pick up an Oak Club for B.E.O. Not all the Wandering Merchants will sell Bandages so whenever you see them, stock up on 99 of them. They're only 2gp each. If you're in love with the Confusion status effect, the Dull Copper Dagger (Confusion) is a good buy. But if you want raw power, skip it for now and look for the Cold Blood butcher knife artifact here in the swamp. And last but not least, buy a pair of Buckler shields.
[F] The path forward is blocked by some rocks and a log. Press the action button when facing the log and you'll push it out of the way.
[G] The book end to the tragic tale of Wendy & Zach. Of course it's a tale that you'll only understand if you've stolen both "Wendy's Diary" & "Zach's Journal". If you haven't stolen them and haven't read them, you might just brush off their graves as a random bit of info.

[A] Unlike the quest from the Apprentice to the Traveling Minstrel in Covetous, this quest is completely optional. But this is your only chance for Lord Book Master to learn the Inscription Skill. Even if you don't want to complete the quest, accept the quest anyway. Once you accept the quest, you'll be given; a Scribe's Pen, 5 Blank Scrolls, and you will have learned the Inscription Skill.

[B] This is your destination. It's easy enough to get there. You only have to go through 3 logs to make your way through, but you'll be missing out on all the good loot.
[C] First of all, you can't get all the chests without at least using the Teleport spell to return to the beginning at least once. Move up and push this log down (blocking the path back to the safe area).
[D] Push this next one to the left.
[E] Move up, but do not push this next one. It will block access from your first chest. Side-step it and push the 2nd horizontal log upward. Walk up and to the left to the chest. Now use Book Master to cast his Teleport spell and start again.
[F] This time, instead of pushing the log at [E], turn to your right and push this log to the right. It will block that secluded chest... at least it looks like it does. [G]See the tiny patches of land? Move south and face north. Hit the action button and you'll hop across and over the 2nd chest.
[H] Push the log at [F] back to the left and circle around. Once you're around, push this log to the left. This will clear two paths.
[I] Let's go for the path on the left first. Walk towards the middle of the landmass then up. Push this log upward.
[J] Circle all the way around, across the top, then back down. Ignore all the other logs. Push this log down and grab the treasure from the 3rd and 4th chests.
[K] Now go back (although at this point, it would be faster to use the Teleport spell again). Go to the other path and push this log to the left. Circle around to the 5th and final chest.
[L] When you're done, go back to the right, shove this log to the right and move on to the next swamp area. (You're not done yet.)
[M] A chest with 50 gold pieces.
[N] A chest with Cold Blood.
[O] A chest with a Resurrection Scroll.
[P] A chest with a Iron Scythe (Hit Lightning).
[Q] A chest with a Iron Sword (Undead Slayer).
Tip: If you're fed up with all the random encounters while you're just trying to grab treasure, don't forget, you have learned the Hiding Skill. Use it. Not only does it help with steals, but it also toggles on and off the random encounters.
Tip: Liches are very powerful. With Lord Book Master now on your side, you do have enough fire power to take him down, but Lord Book Master is also weak enough to die in one hit from a Lightning Bolt or Energy Bolt. Be careful.
Tip: When Lord Book Master says that Teleport may be your only way out, he means it. Inscribe a Teleport spell ASAP. If Lord Book Master dies, you'll have to use a scroll to get back to the safe area where you can resurrect and heal everybody up.
