  • The dream sequence wasn't in my original plan. But after I came up with the idea, I couldn't possibly imagine this chapter succeeding without it. It was also fun to write, so it may have opened up the possibility of more dream sequences.

  • I was way behind schedule on this chapter because of working on Chapter V's Document (The Codex of Ultimate Wisdom). I didn't really expect much out of this chapter, but it actually came out very easily. Instead of being the shortest chapter like I thought it would be, it ended up being the longest up to this point. Finished it in two days.

He plunges his arm into the hole left by the arrow. Reaching in past his elbow, he sifts through her soul. I always thought that last scentence was clunky. And I finally found an answer to that.

  • 07-22-2009 - I didn't start recording my revisions until after I was into Volume 2, so I'm guessing a new default starting point for all Volume 1 chapters to be at 1.50. Rewrite to version 2.50. A lot of changes throughout the chapter. I was describing the actual game too much, which didn't fit well with the story. A net change of +13 words to 1,657.
